Can I use my own domain?

Yes, on the paid plans. Add the domain in the console and prove it with one DNS record; the secure certificate that lets your site answer on it is arranged separately.

Yes. Open your website in the console and choose Your own domain. It belongs to the paid plans, and inside an organisation it is a manager-level setting rather than something every agent can change.

Type the address you own into Domain name and choose Use this domain. The panel then shows the one DNS record that proves the domain is yours, as three labelled values — Record type, Record name and Record value — which you add with the company your domain is registered with. Copy the two values across exactly as they are shown; they are not sentences and a stray word in either makes the record fail to match.

Come back and choose Check the record. If the record is not there yet, if a different one is there, or if your domain provider cannot be reached, the panel names which of those happened and says that nothing was changed. Checking never undoes a domain already in use, so it is safe to check as often as you like, and Stop using this domain releases it again.

One thing to expect, because the console says it too: proving the domain is not the same as your website answering on it. A secure certificate for your address is arranged separately, and until it is ready your website goes on answering at its Housing Market Cloud address. Nothing you have written is affected either way, and you do not lose the claim while you wait.

If you already own a domain and are wondering whether to renew it, keep it. A domain is far easier to keep than to recover, and your content moves with you — the pages you write today are not thrown away by changing the address they are served on.
