Why is my Publisher ad slot empty?

A slot disappears, rather than showing a blank box, when no paid campaign fits the visitor or the visitor has not agreed to advertising where that is required. It also shows nothing before your website is approved.

Housing Market Publisher never leaves an empty box on your page. If it has nothing to show for a visitor, the slot disappears. That happens when:

  • No paid campaign fits that visitor. Advertisers opt in to network websites, so what is available varies.
  • The visitor has not agreed to advertising, in a country where an ad is shown only after they agree.
  • Your website has not been approved yet. Check its status on its page in the Publisher app.

If nothing shows at all, also check that the snippet of the slot is on the page and contains the slot id shown in the Publisher app. If you would rather show something when no paid campaign fits, you can switch on house ads in the website’s settings. They are free Housing Market promotions and earn nothing.
