What does an XML API Sync feed error mean?
Your dashboard says in plain words why your feed could not be read, or which field of which listing caused a problem.
If your feed cannot be read, your dashboard says why. The most common reasons:
- The link leads to a web page, not to a property feed. A feed link usually ends in .xml or .json; your website provider can give it to you.
- There is no feed at this link: the website says the page does not exist. Check the link, or ask your website provider for the current one.
- The link sends us on to a web page or to a different website. Use the final address of your feed.
- The website that hosts your feed refused our request. Ask your web host or developer to allow our reader. Feeds that need a login or an API key cannot be read.
- We read the feed but cannot find your listings in it. Match its fields yourself; the preview shows when it works.
A problem with one listing never stops the others. It is listed with the listing’s reference and the field that caused it, for example that its price is not a number, or that its price is in a different currency from the portal’s. Fix it in your feed, and the next read picks it up.
