How do I request a stay at a vacation rental?
On a vacation rental that takes requests, pick your dates under Availability and booking request, fill in the short form and choose Request to book. The dates are held for 72 hours while the owner replies, and no payment is taken on the portal.
Search with the Vacation Rental tab on the home page. A vacation rental that takes booking requests shows its rates and an availability calendar on its page. If a listing shows no calendar, contact the advertiser as you would for any other property.
Send a request
- Under Availability and booking request, select your check-in date, then your check-out date. Days that are struck through are unavailable.
- Check the total shown for your stay. Clear dates starts again.
- Enter Your name and Email (not asked when you are signed in), Phone (optional), the number of Guests and a Message to the owner (optional).
- Tick the reCAPTCHA box and choose Request to book.
A stay by the night can last up to one month. Some owners rent by the month only; the check-out date must then fall on the same day of a later month.
What happens next
- The dates are on hold for 72 hours while the owner replies, and we email you the details. If you were not signed in, that email also has a link that signs you in to your request.
- If the owner confirms, we email you their contact details, and you arrange payment and check-in with them directly. Housing Market Group takes no payment.
- If the owner declines, or does not reply within 72 hours, the dates are released.
- Signed in, you find every request under My Stay Requests in the dashboard, where a pending request can be withdrawn with Withdraw request.
