What is a guide in Housing Market Insights?

A guide turns the research for one market into a document for a client, carrying your name and branding rather than ours.

A guide takes the research for one market and turns it into a document you can put in front of a client, carrying your own name and branding rather than ours.

How to build one

  • Open Content studio and choose the market.
  • Choose the topic and the audience — a guide written for buyers reads differently from one written for renters.
  • Choose which approved evidence to cite. Only reviewed evidence for that market is offered, so a guide cannot quote something that has not been checked.
  • Preview it. Your name, professional title and contact details come from your Insights profile and are applied to the preview.
  • Save it to your account. Saved guides stay there and can be reopened.

What you can then do with it

On the free plan the preview shows the first two sections of the guide, and it can be saved but not downloaded or published.

On Insights Pro you get the whole guide, the client-ready report layout with control over its sections, a PDF download, and the option to publish it as a link a client can open.

Two things worth knowing

Your identity is editable. The name, title and contact details on a guide come from your profile in Settings, so correcting them once corrects every guide you make afterwards.

A guide is a snapshot. It carries the research as it stood when you made it. If a client is working from a guide you produced months ago, make a new one rather than assuming the figures still hold.
