What is “Similar properties nearby” on a listing page?

Up to eight other listings below the one you are viewing: the same listing type, as close by and as close in price as the portal can find. Choose a card to open it.

Scroll below the description, facilities and location of any listing to find Similar properties nearby. Each card shows a photo, the price, the title and the number of beds and baths.

How the listings are chosen

  • Always the same listing type (for sale, for rent and so on) and the same country portal.
  • First, listings in the same city, of the same property type, within a quarter of the price. If that finds fewer than eight, the search widens to the province and a wider price range.
  • Only listings with a photo are shown, and no more than four from the same advertiser.
  • Prices are shown as each advertiser set them. Nothing is converted.

The labels on a card

  • Recently updated: the advertiser changed the listing in the last 90 days.
  • On the market for a longer period: a property for sale first listed more than six months ago.

Neither label changes where a listing appears in search. If nothing similar is found, the section is not shown.
