How do trigger campaigns work?
A trigger writes to the right people when something happens: a new listing in an area, a price drop, a lead that has gone quiet or a deal you have won. It is part of Pro, and every trigger starts switched off.
Open Marketing and then Triggers, and choose what should start it:
- A new listing in a saved area: when a listing of yours goes live in the area you choose, for sale, for rent or both, the buyers whose stated needs it suits get an email featuring it.
- A price drop: when the price of one of your live listings falls by at least the percentage you set, the buyers it suits are told. The first time the CRM sees a listing it only records the price, so a drop is counted from then on.
- A lead that has gone quiet: when a lead has had no contact for the number of days you set, they get your message. It carries no listing.
- A deal that has been won: a few days after you win a deal, the client gets your thank-you message. It carries no listing.
A new trigger is saved switched off and writes to nobody. You switch it on yourself, and you confirm that the people it writes to asked to hear from you or have a relationship with you that allows it. Before that, Check what it would do now shows what it would send, and sends nothing.
Each firing happens once. Someone a trigger has written to is left alone for the number of days you set, and the one-marketing-email-a-day limit of your account still applies, so a person already emailed today receives it tomorrow. The same checks as for segments apply: no unsubscribed, suppressed or duplicate addresses, and a recorded opt-in where the market requires one. What each trigger has done is listed under What it has done. Triggers are part of Pro, and a downgrade stops them.
