What does maintenance cover?
Keeping what was built running — not building new things.
Maintenance covers updates, security patches, and fixing what we built when it breaks. On a one-time build it is optional.
It is not new development. New features are scoped and quoted separately, so a maintenance fee never quietly becomes a development budget or the other way round.
