How do I add a lead by hand?

Open Tasks and choose + New Task. Give the lead a title, pick or create its contact, and choose Save: it appears in the New Task column of your board.

Enquiries from your portal listings arrive as leads on their own. For a buyer who phoned, walked in or was introduced to you, add the lead yourself: open Tasks in the left menu and choose + New Task above the board. The + at the top of a column does the same and starts the lead in that column.

The form

  • Title — required. Name the lead so you recognise it on the board.
  • Description — what they are looking for, in a line or two.
  • Assign to Agent — who works the lead. Left empty, it is you.
  • Contact — required. Search your contacts by name; if the person is not there yet, choose Create new contact.
  • Interested Property — search the portal listings by address, area or city and pick the one they asked about.
  • Status (New, Call Back, Message Back or Closed) and Category (Buy, Rent or Sell).
  • Deadline — a date that puts the lead under the Today and Overdue filters above the board.
  • Files — documents to keep with the lead.

Choose Save. The lead appears in the New Task column, or in the column you started from, and its timeline records that it was created.

The Reminder date on this form is stored with the lead but does not send you a notification. For a reminder, open the lead after saving and add a follow-up under Follow-ups — see "Does the CRM include reminders?".
